With permission from our Top 3 graduates, I will share their education resumes with you. Hopefully, it will inspire you to reach for higher goals:
- Maggie Hudson, John Thomas Salmon, and Matthew Carson all have a 4.0 average and scored a 30 or above on their ACT's.
- All three were involved in National Honor Society at HCHS
- All three were enrolled in Honors and Advanced Placement courses to reach college- and career-ready status
- All three volunteered their time to help others in and out of our community
- All three had work experience (lifeguard, cashier, delivery and equipment assembler, and grocery store associate)
- All were involved in extra-curricular activities that interested them and helped them to enjoy school
- All belonged to school clubs that interested them such as Math, Science,Criminal Justice, History, Spanish, BETA, and/or Fellowship of Christian Athletes
- All had goals to attend a university after graduation
Students, start planning now to make the most of your high school experience. As Maggie said, "Bees are unacceptable." Take her advice and plan for a well-rounded experience in high school so that you may succeed in your goals. And adults, it's never too late to aspire to higher levels of achievement. Get involved (!) with school, with church, with volunteer activities, and especially with our youth.
