Tennessee Coordinated School Health connects physical, emotional and social health with education through eight inter-related components. This coordinated approach improves students' health and their capacity to learn through the support of families, communities and schools working together. Coordinated School Health works with many partners to address school health priorities.

Student Wellness Policy
The Board recognizes the link between student wellness and academic achievement. In order to implement overall wellness for students, the plan shall be followed by all schools in the district. The Board shall permit teachers, school health professionals, parents, administrators, and any interested citizens to participate in the development of wellness policies.

CDC 2020 School Health Profiles
The School Health Profiles (Profiles) is a system of surveys assessing school health policies and practices in states, large urban school districts, and territories.

Profiles surveys are conducted biennially by education and health agencies among middle and high school principals and lead health education teachers.

The Tennessee School Health Coalition (TNSHC) was formed in 1984 to improve the health environment in schools. TNSHC has been a major supporter of Coordinated School Health in areas of improving the health of TN students, advocating for CSH, and supporting CSH Coordinators
