Henry County High School Launches New Youth Leadership Program to Empower Future Leaders

Paris, TN - Henry County High School is proud to announce the launch of its new Youth Leadership Program, an initiative designed to equip students with the skills, confidence, and real-world experience necessary to become tomorrow’s leaders.

Beginning this fall, the Youth Leadership Program will offer selected junior students the opportunity to engage in hands-on leadership training, mentorship opportunities, community service projects, and public speaking development. The program will run throughout the academic year and culminate with a Leadership Showcase highlighting student-led initiatives that address local community needs.

“This program is about more than just building resumes—it’s about empowering students to step into their potential and make meaningful contributions to their school and community,” said Director of Schools, Dr. Leah Watkins. “We want our students to graduate not just with knowledge, but with purpose and confidence.”

Key components of the Youth Leadership Program include:

● Monthly Leadership Workshops led by school staff and local professionals

● Peer Mentorship and Coaching opportunities

● Civic Engagement Projects in partnership with Henry County organizations

● Scholarship Opportunities along with community service

● Recognition and Awards for student accomplishments

Applications for the 2025–2026 cohort are available in the HCHS counseling office as well as the Chamber of Commerce and are due September 1, 2025. It is open to all interested juniors in good academic standing.

Henry County High School invites parents, community members, and local leaders to get involved through mentorship, guest speaking, or project collaboration.
