The initiative, a statewide celebration of financial literacy, engaged the school’s first and second-grade classes in learning foundational personal finance concepts.
Principal Ashley James and the participating students were acknowledged for their efforts in the program, which uses engaging storybooks, hands-on lessons, and caregiver guides to teach young learners about money. Participants in Money Week show positive outcomes as they learn to count and recognize currency, understand the difference between wants and needs, and practice good habits using 'spend, save, share' banks. Director of Schools Dr. Leah Watkins praised the school's commitment to the program saying, "I am proud of the efforts Henry School is making to teach our students the important concepts of financial literacy."
Principal James added that the program has also increased the students' excitement for learning about money.
