Henry, TN – Thanks to a nationwide giveaway and the dedicated efforts of parents and staff, Henry Elementary School now has a new Little Free Library ready for the community. The library, which provides 24/7 access to books, was awarded to the school through the Little Library 200K Giveaway hosted by LittleFreeLibrary.org.

Henry teacher Samantha Lindley-Murphy entered the giveaway in the spring and was thrilled when the school was selected to receive a Little Free Library and 200 books donated by Penguin Random House. Local parents Colton and Raven Wyrick volunteered their time and skills to build and install the library, making it a wonderful addition to the campus. (see photo)

“We are now listed on The Little Free Library app as Henry Elementary School Charter #202461, and our library can be found on the map,” said Lindley-Murphy. “Anyone in the community can borrow and share books for all ages.”

The new Little Free Library operates on a simple "take a book, share a book" principle, encouraging a love of reading and providing easy access to literature for everyone.

“Hopefully, this will be a great asset to our community and will allow families more access to books,” added Lindley-Murphy. “We are so excited to share this opportunity with our students and community.”

Community members are encouraged to visit the new Little Free Library to borrow a book or contribute one of their own. For those with a large quantity of book donations, please contact Samantha Lindley-Murphy at murphys@henryk12.net. For smaller donations, simply place them in the library and feel free to take a new book for yourself.
