Puryear, TN – Mariah Walls, a dedicated special education teacher at Dorothy and Noble Harrelson Elementary School, has been recognized by the Kentucky Reading Association (KRA) as one of their "30 Under 30" honorees. The award celebrates young professionals who are making a significant impact on literacy development.
Walls, who teaches K-2 inclusion, was recognized at the annual KRA Conference for her commitment to providing every student with the foundational skills of reading, writing, and communication. Her passion highlights the crucial role of literacy in children’s development.
Walls shared her commitment to her students, stating, “In special education, the most remarkable accomplishments often come in these quiet, personal transformations—those little wins that fill your heart with joy and remind you why you do the work.” She credits her success to an unwavering belief in every child’s potential.
