Paris, TN – May 26, 2026 – Henry County Schools is proud to announce the return of the Summer Nutrition Program for Kids, providing free, nutritious meals to all children aged 18 and under. The program will run from June 1 through July 17, 2026, ensuring no child goes hungry while school is out of session.
At the May school board meeting, Nutrition Supervisor Tiffany Latta highlighted the critical need for the program, citing the absence of Summer EBT in Tennessee and the continued strain of rising grocery prices on local families.
"We served 55,000 meals last year and we hope to serve even more this year," said Latta. "To meet that goal, we are expanding our reach with new locations at Morning Side Village and Washington Courts Housing Authority."
To better support families over the weekends:
Weekend Meals: The program includes breakfast, lunch, and weekend supplemental meals.
Bulk Milk Distribution: On Fridays, the program will transition from individual cartons to 1/2-gallon milk jugs to ensure children have a steady supply throughout the weekend.
